Community rules
How we ask people to behave where they can write on this site, and what happens when a rule is broken.
These rules are for everybody who has an account here and writes where others can read: comments under posts, product reviews, and messages to our team. By creating an account you agree to follow them.
Treat people with respect
Disagree with what was said, never with who said it.
No insults, threats, harassment or bullying, in public or in messages to our team.
No hate or contempt towards a person or a group because of who they are: their origin, religion, sex, gender, orientation, age, disability or anything of the kind.
Nothing sexual, violent or shocking for its own sake.
Be honest
Write as yourself. Do not pretend to be another person, a company or a member of our team.
One account per person. Do not use several accounts to vote, to review or to get around a pause.
Review only what you have really used, and say so if you were given it or paid for your opinion.
Do not state as fact what you know to be false, and do not mislead others to make them buy, click or share.
Keep it useful
Stay on the subject of the page you are writing on.
No advertising, no links posted to sell something, no repeated messages.
Likes, dislikes and reports are your own opinion: do not organise them, trade them or automate them.
Protect privacy and other people's work
Do not share personal details, yours or anybody else's: addresses, phone numbers, documents, private messages.
Share only what is yours to share. Quote briefly and say where it comes from.
Do not post licence keys, passwords or ways around the protection of software.
Stay within the law and keep the site safe
Nothing illegal, and nothing that helps somebody do something illegal.
Do not try to break, overload or get into parts of the site that are not yours, and do not collect other people's information from it.
If you find a security problem, tell us privately through the contact form instead of publishing it.
When a rule is broken
Use Report on a comment that breaks these rules instead of answering it. A person from our team looks at every report.
Moderators may hide, hold for approval or remove what breaks these rules, and may pause an account's right to comment, like and review for a time or until further notice. Serious or repeated cases can lead to the account being closed, as the Terms describe.
This can happen without notice. If we find that an account is being used to harm other people, to deceive, to break the law or to put the site at risk, we may pause or ban it at once, without a warning first. Where we can, we tell you afterwards what was done and why.
If you think a decision about you was a mistake, write to us and a different person will look at it.
Changes
We may change these rules as the site grows. The rules on this page are the ones in force.
